- You will need to get your Marriage License within 90 days of the ceremony. Don't wait and have to scramble the final week! See FAQ's for info on where to get them. Both Bride and Groom need to go, and you will sign it at the courthouse. They are good for a wedding anywhere in California, so you do not need to get the license in the same county as the wedding. Please bring it to the rehearsal, and I will take care of getting the signatures and mailing it in.
- It is helpful to have a wedding coordinator or at least a friend who can help with:
--Communicating with the Bride just before the ceremony to see if she is ready.
--Directing the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen as to when they enter.
--Assisting the Ringbearer and Flowergirl—especially if they are very young.
--Last minute details.
- As you think through the elements of your ceremony, be creative and let it reflect who you are. People often ask me, "What is the right way?". My response is that the right way is whatever you would like. So give it some thought and don't be afraid to try something new.
- If you will have a DJ, please request a lapel microphone or handheld on a mic stand. Smaller ceremonies may not need to be mic’d.
